Award in Electric / Hybrid Vehicle Routine Maintenance Activities
This qualification is designed for those carrying out general servicing of Electric / Hybrid vehicles within a routine maintenance situation.
This is a 2 day training course which includes both an online and practical assessment.
In addition to the Level 1 topics, you will be introduced to how to:
Electric / Hybrid vehicle system components and operation
Hazards surrounding Electric / Hybrid vehicles
How to reduce the risks to yourself and others when working on Electric / Hybrid vehicles
Safely preparing the vehicle (the isolation process) when carrying out routine maintenance (NOT to work on high voltage components or systems)
Safe isolation of the high voltage system in an emergency/recovery situation
Completing this qualification will give you the skills to safely isolate Electric / Hybrid vehicles. You will need further qualifications to be able to work on any part of the high voltage system either live or non-live.
For this course, while there are no formal pre-requisites, we recommend that delegates be able to demonstrate that they hold a Level Three qualification or have at least
three years of experience in the Service and Repair of Light Vehicles sector in order to successfully complete this course.
Once successfully completed the delegate will be entered onto the IMI Professional Register and become TechSafe accredited.
